Regarding the Job market in UK

Hi

I am from india planning to come to UK with HSMP in May 2008.

It would be helpful if you could clarify few of my below doubts.

1. I have 4years of COBOL,CICS,DB2 (Mainframes technolgy) experience, have one year UK experience.I have searched in Jobserv.com website and i found only 100 jobs for my skillset.Please tell me the possibility of getting the job?

2. I am planning to learn ASP.NET,VB.NET with SQL server 2000 certifications and also get some hands on project experience.
Can i able to get the job if i clear the interview.I will show my experience in my friends project.
I know its a bit tough one, but i have no other options left.

3.In UK is there any training agency will give training and job assistance.

My ultimate goal is to get a stay of 5 yrs in UK with decent salary.Please suggest.
