EEA dependent

Post by stamas01 » Fri Mar 03, 2017 9:07 am

Hi all,

I have been here in the UK for 5 years working and I can prove it easily. My son is currently in uni and arrived in the UK 2.5 years ago and since then he has been a dependent. He has a valid EHIC and we are both from an EEA country. I just wanted to ask whether there is a chance that he will get the permanent residency if we do a joint application or not? Or is there any way to ensure his place in the uk before Brexit happens?

Thanks

I believe that currently your son should reside in the UK for at least 5 years under the EEA regulations before being eligible for PR.
