Benefit of getting an RC before A50 trigger day?

I'd welcome opinions on whether getting an EEA residence certificate, prior to the date of Article 50 being exercised, might help someone (that won't have achieved permanent residence by 2019) benefit from any post-Brexit transitional rules?

Nobody can answer this until we know what the regulations will be .....
But from a practical point of view I would say that the more your status is documented now the less effort you have to extend on getting things in place on or after day X.
