Hi there
I'd really appreciate your help with this...
Our situation is:
- I'm from N.Ireland and have a British passport.
- After years living in Spain working, I came back to N.Ireland in 2013 with my non-EU wife.
- We came back using the S.Singh route and my wife has her Residence Card now.
- I've been working since we came back. My wife doesn't work as she takes care of the kids.
Our PR application is not that far away and, although I know things can change with Brexit, I just want to make sure that we are doing everything OK as per the rules as they stand now … as Brexit is really beginning to get us worried!
So my questions:
1. I heard about CSI recently… should we have had this? If so, me, my wife or both of us? As a precaution, should I get it quick before Brexit is triggered?
2. I’m entitled to an Irish passport (as well as the British one I already have)….
a) Are there any agreements between NI and Ireland that would make this a good idea?
b) Is an Irish passport going to mess up her PR application (which is based on the S.Singh European route)?
(I’ve read lots of previous posts but everyone’s situation is different, so not sure which answers apply to us, so I thought better to ask) Many thanks!
