I can't find an answer to my question anywhere on the internet so I thought maybe somebody will be able to help me here. There's simply no information about minors or those who just became "grown-ups".
We live in the UK since 2013, both me and my husband in full time employment from the beginning so CSI was never a question for us as both of us paying NI.
My son who was with us all the way turned 18 in February but he's still in the secondary school not in university, he's doing the last year of 6th Form until the end of the school year. With that he's still our dependent child just like a minor, we receive Child Benefit after him until the end of August.
Does he need CSI now that he's 18? Next year we would like to apply for the permanent resident card, we don't want him to miss all these years just because he should have had insurance even when he's in secondary education only and we didn't know about it.
