Offshore workers - FLR(O) now (IR) (HRO)

Post by Wilburfied » Tue Mar 14, 2017 2:20 pm

Any offshore workers that used to use the FLR(O) form under

- Other purposes or reasons not covered by other application forms

to get an annual residence permit out there?

I am confused as to if I now use the FLR(IR) or the FLR(HRO) form.

The (IR) form says:

- Any other application for leave to remain that is within the Immigration Rules but is not
covered by another form.

And the (HRO) form says:

- Other claims not covered by another form.

So I guess question is does a offshore worker category application fall under the Immigration rules?

If yes (IR), If no (HRO)

The UKVI helpline is not helping so much here.

No they never seem to be.

It seems to be outside the usual immigration rules. FLR (HRO) - the guidance says ( https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... -12-16.pdf ) sub-point leave outside the rules for immigration policy concessions - https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... tion14.pdf
Annex A - Off shore workers

Cheers buddy.

I think your correct, they are asking for 3 years Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) when I try to book. Which is odd as I have always only been able to get 1 year FLR. Here's hoping anyhow.
