PR while on benefits; does it require a CSI?

Post by tmonaghan » Wed Mar 15, 2017 11:12 am

Hello,

I am hoping that this is the correct forum to submit this question.

A mate of mine has been on Income Support and receiving Housing benefits for about five years. I don't know the details but we wondered if the HO will accept an application for PR from someone who has been the recipient of benefits for five years. It matters to know that he is a Dutch Citizen and he has been living in the UK for about 20 years but on benefits for the last five years...

There is no information on the web about people applying for the PR on benefits,

Could this be possible or will he have to be a qualified person before applying? Which means that when applying for his PR the application form does not provide space for people who have been on benefits before applying for their PR

Many thanks,

Trevor

He has to be able to show a qualifying of five years, not necessarily for the five years before the application. Other may comment on the benefits aspect.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
