Resgination time while changing sponser on Tier2 General

Hello Gurus,

I need your help and advice here?
I am currently in UK on Tier-2 Gen visa and looking to change the sponsor.
The new company is looking to sponsor visa but i am confused as to when can i put the resignation papers in my current company.
1) Can you please advice as to should i put resignation even before i have been issued COS from new company?
2) Or should i put the resignation after the new COS is issued by new company and the new visa is under process?
3) or above all i should get the new BRP cards under new company COS and then put down the papers , which will effectively increase my joining date in new company

Please help me in this situation and any pointer will be of great help

3. resign after you have got the new BRP.
if you do before, anything can go wrong.. starting from no cos available, visa rejected etc.
