Cancel RC application and Tier 5 visa has expired

Hello,

Hopefully someone can help with this query as Im struggling to find this information.

I applied for the EEA(EFM) Resident Card on the 16th January, my tier 5 visa expired on the 3rd March. I have now decided not to wait out the 6 months but to head back home (aus). If I apply to have my passport back I understand my application will be canceled - which is fine but how long do I then have to leave the country?

My concern is that once my passport is back I will technically be an overstayer. Do they have a grace period in which you need to leave the UK by?

As your overstay began prior to 6 April 2017, you have 90 days.
