Visitor visa after ICT - short term

Post by Nish1690 » Sat Mar 18, 2017 11:07 am

Hi,

I'm posting this message to inquire about how easy / difficult it is to get a visitor visa to UK after spending 5+ months there on an Tier 2 - ICT short term visa.

To give you more background on my travel history to the UK - I initially traveled in April 2016 for about 12 days on a visitor visa, to meet my friends there. I then got an opportunity from my company to go on a secondment for about 150 days (5 months) to UK. I went in September 2016 and came back in February 2017. Cause of a lot of work - I wasn't able to cover a whole lot of places while there. I obviously liked the place quite a lot and I'm planning to travel to UK again in April for about 3-4 weeks (as I have to use up my accumulated leaves before I end up losing them) and I want to go to Scotland, Ireland and some other cities like Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, that I wasn't able to visit during my 5 months there (again cause of work).

I have enough bank balance to be able to support my trip and I would be staying over at a friend's place there for the time that I'm in London, who is willing to send over a letter of invitation as well.

So my question is - would it be a problem for me to apply for a visitor visa now after having spent 5 months there?

Shouldn't be a problem as long as you produce the right documentation.
Tier 2 and Visitor visa are two different leaves and therefore shouldn't matter.
Any suggestions I make in the forum are out my personal experience and should not be taken as a legal/professional advise.

Thanks Poper -

Just want to be sure that the timelines wouldn't be a problem either? Considering I came back on the 19th of Feb 2017 from UK and I'll be making an application at some point during this week - which is basically after about a month of my return. Appreciate your help on this!

Second Time UK Visitors Visa

Post by Nish1690 » Wed Mar 22, 2017 12:06 pm

Hi,

Can someone please let me know what might be an acceptable reason for travel to the UK, whilst applying for a Visitors visa application for the second time? I traveled to the UK in April 2016 for 12 days and then was granted an opportunity to work in the UK on a Tier 2 ICT - Short Term visa for 5 months (Sep '16 to Feb '17).

I'm making an application to travel in April '17 again for a month and wanted to check if tourism would pass as a valid reason for the second time (considering having spent so much time there already)? My main purpose is to go visit a few of my friends, whose place I'd be staying at, and would probably go to a few more places within UK that I wasn't able to cover, while there for work.

As such, could you advise if this would be a valid enough reason to put on my visa application?

Thank you.
