Tier 2 General visa application in April

Hi,
I am applying Tier 2 General Visa out of UK and my job code 2136(Programmer)and i will be applying for visa in April 2017.
Whether i will be required to provide criminal record certificate.

I have been in UK on Tier 2 dependent visa now i am planning to take my own Tier 2 General visa.

Hope someone can help me about this point.
