Citizenship entitlement

Post by salli24 » Fri Mar 31, 2017 4:42 pm

I am a father, Irish Citizen, and I have two boys by blood, aged 18 and 19 who never came to Ireland and are living abroad. I have been Irish Citizen since 2006.

Are my children entitled to apply for Irish Citizenship, I also have children in Ireland too who are all Irish Citizen since 2006.

Please tell me the process of applying Irish Citizenship for my two children living abroad if they are entitled to.

Thanks and looking forward to answers.

Regards

So since you say you are Irish since 2006 I assume you got it by naturalization. If that is the case your child would need to apply the same way to get Irish citizenship. However to apply they would need to live in the Republic of Ireland for a certain period of time. Unless they have Irish grandparents, in that case they can apply for Irish citizenship by that means.
