Does 6-months child need to meet financial requirement?

Post by onionw123 » Sat Mar 11, 2017 10:46 pm

Hi,

Background:
Both my wife and I have got ILR two years ago, and last year my son was born out side of UK, and now i want to apply for ILR for him. He is now just 6 months.

I wonder if we need to meet financial requirement for his application? If so, what requirement I need to meet as parent.

Many thanks for any help

Hi vinny,

Gone through the link you shared above, could I say I will be ok if I have more £16000 savings in bank account in the past 6 months if i just bring my son (6 months old) to the UK?

Do I need to provide any other documents to prove that I have met financial requirement? The reason is that I am self-employed (limited company), but just started a few months. I am not sure if you can have all documents that Home Office needed.

Please help, Thanks a lot.

The weekly rate will be £384 if I have £20,000 savings in the past 6 months (£20,000/52 weeks). and cost of accommodation is around £233 per week,

so could I say I have met adequate maintenance even if I don't provide any payslip but just with savings?

If your savings are sufficient, then it should be okay. Don't you or spouse have any income or wages, etc?

I was perm employee from 04/2016 to 11/2016 and income was over high tax rate threshold, so from 12/2016 I didn't take any salary from my company to achieve tax efficiency, but I did take 5000 pounds dividends. Therefore I am worry about it.

My son was born oversea, my wife and I have got ILR before he was born. I wonder if he can apply for ILR in the UK if he uses visitor visa coming to the UK at first time? or He has to go back and apply for ILR?

does that mean my son can apply for ILR in the UK even if he came to the UK as tourist visa (entry entrance) at first time?

I can find this statement from UKBA webpage, what does it mean by "have permission"?

Eligibility for children under 18

Your child must be under 18 and they:
have permission to be in the UK as the child of your partner (who is their other parent and is settled with a work visa)
