Extension & ILR Question

I have 2 questions.

1) How many days before your visa expires should I apply for extension.


2)During my initial leave to remain I have employed for 24 months, do I need to continue to employee them until ILR , Basically want to know after extension what is employement requirment.

You need another 24 months worth (or two full years for two employees if you are post transitional) during the period after the extension up to ILR (the period waiting for the extension does not count)

All those who hire for 24 months, then stop, then hire again clearly are not genuine entrepreneurs in the sense of building a sustainable business. They are hiring only the min to meet the rules of the visa but not the spirit. While we have not seen this yet, I would expect (and hope...) that HO clamps down on this clear abuse of the system. Again, there is no evidence this has happened yet.

Of course when it happens everyone will come running to this forum complaining and looking for solutions.

I suggest to apply two weeks before your visa expires.

2)During my initial leave to remain I have employed for 24 months, do I need to continue to employee them until ILR , Basically want to know after extension what is employement requirment.

You need to create/maintain 24 months of employment AFTER EXTENSION is GRANTED for ILR.
