Anyone applied for PR supplying "expired" French ID card?

Post by kamoe » Mon Apr 03, 2017 4:17 pm

My French partner's National ID card is expiring in July, barely days after we plan to submit his application for PR. Because of this, we were planning to renew his card before submitting the application. However, I just realized that apaprently all French NI cards issued for adults between 2004 and 2013 are automatically extended for an additional period of 5 years: https://uk.ambafrance.org/Carte-d-ident ... expiration

My question is: Is the HO aware of this? Or at least, would they accept the "notice explicative" supplied by the consulate: https://uk.ambafrance.org/IMG/pdf/docum ... 74a4a0288c

Has anyone successfully applied for PR (or any other category) supplying an "expired" French ID card that is actually still valid as per this new rule?

Thanks!
