IHS Refund - Tier 2 Visa

Post by koula » Tue Apr 04, 2017 2:06 pm

Hello There,

I recently started an application to extend my tier 2 (general visa). I was promoted within my company and needed a new visa as the job code for my new position was different to what i was initially hired for. So i have a new CoS now. Me and My wife still have 1 year left on our existing Tier 2 and and corresponding dependent visa. After searching online, i came to know that my wife doesn't need to apply with me right away and can apply closer to her visa expiry date. However i had already started an online application (within UK) and paid IHS (for me and my wife). Here are my queries :

1) How do i start a new application for just me ? Should i ignore the existing VISA application (made for me and my wife) and start a fresh application.
2) since i have paid IHS for 2 people, can i use the same IHS reference for my new application. Will they realize that the amount is more and refund half the money automatically?

many thanks for all your replies in Advance,

Regards,
Koul

As long as the online application is still in draft, i.e. you haven't submitted it yet, you can discard and start a fresh application or go back to first page and edit the details that you want.

Not sure about the second part of your query. I guess they may refund, but not 100% sure.
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.
