Hi all,
I am an EEA citizen who applied for naturalisation. I have been requested by the HO to send additional evidence about my residence in the ONLY for the year in which I had permanent residence status. Throughout that period I have only been a student. I'm trying to collect as many documents as possible, including council tax bills exc., but one thing worries me. I have always been a student in the UK, but my comprehensive sickness insurance (CSI) policy expired three months after I acquired permanent residence. In the annex to the letter I received from the HO there is a list of possible evidence I can send, but it states that if one wants to send letters confirming student status he must also send evidence of CSI. Although I have been doing some ancillary work and I can produce a P60 form and a few payslips, this does not qualify me as an employee.
From my understanding the CSI should NOT be required for that year given that I was not exercising treaty rights, having acquired PR status. Should I mention this in the cover letter or not? I do not want to raise issues that may be used against me
Since the evidence must be sent by next Monday (10/4) I am aiming to send everything by latest Thursday morning, so any advice will be appreciated!
Best regards,
