ILR dependant spouse Maternity absence

Dear All,

I recently (Dec 2016) received my ILR through Tier 1 General visa category. My spouse is currently living in the UK with a Tier 1 General dependent visa.Currently, I am planning to apply ILR for my spouse.

She got her initial Tier 1 dependent visa during May 2012 and she stayed in the UK until September 2014 (Continuously 2 years). Based on my understanding, she should be eligible for ILR if she is in the UK for a continuos period of two years as she got her visa before 9th July 2012.

If this is not correct, I need your suggestions/thoughts on the below issue - She returned to my home country for her maternity from Oct 2014 to Dec 2015. She returned back to the UK in December 2015 and since then living in the UK until now.

Now to provide a justification for her absence(leaving the UK) -
1. Do I need to mention her maternity absence period ( Oct 2014 to Dec 2015) in her ILR application?
2. Can any of you provide a medical certificate format that I need to produce to the home office citing maternity break?

Noe that you will need to show that the relationship was subsisting during the time spent apart; evidence of contact etc.
