Bank statement for sponsoring dependants

Post by simplicity79 » Sun Apr 09, 2017 11:49 am

I am applying for tier 2 visa for myself and my dependants. The bank statement from lloyds bank I received in post is in such a way thats its covering letter is dated 22/03/2017 and comprises of 6 pages ( numbered from 1 of 6 to 6 of 6) one statement period is from 04/02/2017 to 17/03/2017 (print date on top is 17/03/2017) and the other statement period is from 05/07/2016 to 3/02/2017 with the print date on top 03/02/2017. I am worried will this statement be alright to submit to sponsor my dependants. Please help I need advice on urgent basis I will be thankful.

If it's guinuine statements that you got then there shouldn't be any issue. However, you can always go to your local bank branch and ask for statement for the duration you need for your visa. They will stamp and sign , which you can use with your application.
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.

I am applying from outside UK but my funds were in UK therefore I cannot go to bank for the statement of required period but I am thinking of attaching the online statement as well to support the continuity of the document.

As long as the statement is a proper bank statement and has their contact details/logo etc. then it should be fine. Just make sure the statement is generated not more than a month (check ukvi source for exact details) at the time of application.

Please advise that the date on the covering letter corresponds to the date of generation of statement or the date on the top of the statement page corresponds to the date of generation of statement.

If you don't have any transactions between 17th to 23rd March then the statement should be OK.

Also, attaching an online statement to show continuty doesn't harm anyway.

You may be worrying unnecessarily.. but I know everyone (incl. me) go through this at the time of application.

Others on the forum may know better, so see if anyone else have different opinion.

No probs. You're welcome. A couple of users thanked me today for my responses and CR001 slapped me on the wrist for getting my facts slightly wrong. A mixed day  :)

Good luck with your application!

Just an update: my application is successful and want to leave message if anybody faces this problem. Date on the covering letter is equivalent to date of printing of statement. Date on the top of the most recent statement and the covering letter should not be later than 31 days. Date on the top of old statements to cover 90 days period can be more than 31 days.
