Tier 2 Intra Company Transfer - When to start renewing

Post by dawndetector » Mon Apr 10, 2017 1:57 pm

Hi,

I am currently on a 3-Year Tier 2 ICT visa which will expire by end of this year (28th December). Should I start applying for my visa now?

Also, I have just had a baby early this year and would like to apply for a dependant visa for him. I was told that the baby cannot leave the UK without a visa or he might not be able to enter back into the UK again after leaving the UK, is that right? I am from Singapore and I understand that Singaporean does not require any visa to enter the UK for up to 6 months, can my baby leave the UK and then return back to the UK in this case?

Or should I apply for a Tier 2 Dependant Visa for my baby now (which will last him till the end of the year, and then apply for another extension to extend his visa to 2019)?

Thanks for your help!

You can renew whenever you want to. My employer would process a renewal about 3 months before expiry

I've heard that the baby cannot travel without a passport. I am not sure if the baby can enter the UK without Tier 2 Dependent visa. Experts can comment

This looks to be a good option. Else you may need to apply for one while in Singapore

Thanks for your help!
Any suggestions I make in the forum are out my personal experience and should not be taken as a legal/professional advise.

Thanks Poper!

I guess I didn't explain my situation very well in the first post :)

If I were to start applying for a Tier 2 Dependant Visa for my baby:
As my Tier 2 ICT Visa expires by end of this year so would it be better if I start my renewal process now to renew my current visa to 2019 and then apply the Dependant Visa for my baby together in my application so in this case his Visa will last until 2019? Else if i chose to apply for a Visa for him now his Visa will expire when my Visa expires by end of this year? And I will then need to have his Visa renewed again by end of this year which will not be very cost effective?

Thanks again.
