First Child British passport - Called in for interview

Hello All,

Status of parents: Father & Mother British through naturalization
Passport application submitted at local VFS (VFS-UK office Bangalore): 21-Mar-2017

I have received an email to attend the interview on 19-Apr at Pune.
Please help me with couple of queries if you are aware,

1. even though I applied from Bangalore why I have been called to Pune? They refused to reschedule the location to Bangalore when I requested by replying to that email.

2. They insist in an email on both parents to attend the interview, while the child is not necessary. But on the phone I was advised that as a father of the child and the main applicant on child's behalf I alone can attend the interview. This is really confusing. Please let me know your thoughts on this.
