Registration: child born abroad, naturalised British father

Post by romford1 » Fri Apr 14, 2017 1:42 am

Good evening all,
My brother, a naturalised British citizen had a baby in December 2016 to a Pakistani wife in Pakistan.

what is the best way to register the baby?

A- Register overseas birth with UK authorities

B- Apply for Passport directly

or

C- Form MN1 to be applied from Pakistan

or any other way to go about it?

Many Thanks

If child was born after a parent was granted naturalisation, then child has a few options.

Thanks for the reply, he is British citizen otherwise than by descent and was naturalised couple of years before the birth of child.

Can he then just apply for first British passport?
