permanent residency rejection - PhD student

Post by susie1611 » Mon Apr 17, 2017 2:07 pm

I was a PhD student at UCL from 2010-2016. The HO acknowledged my worker status, but only for a limited period, namely until I was receiving funding from UCL. The funding stops after three years and the last two years I was no longer receiving money from UCL but of course I carried on my work as a researcher, just like before (while living off my savings, frugally) and I was still registered as a student (=HO has proof of my being registered for the whole period). Lack of CSI shuts off that other route, so what I would need is proof that I was a worker whilst a student at UCL for my whole time there, correct?

Anyone has an advice/ had similar experience?

Can I appeal on the basis of this or do I lodge a whole new application?

What do I go and ask from UCL as proof of employment?

many thanks for any thoughts...

Did you have registration Certificate issued to you as a Student, whiles you were at UCL.

Registration Certificate?! I do not know what that is, but I have proof of having been registered as a PhD student at UCL for the whole period. (which the HO acknowledged as being adequate to prove I was a student but for proving employment they need payslips apparently.)

You have to have had also a CSI during your three years at the UNI which is a prerequisite to exercise your Treaty Rights
