changing false name to real name

hello
this is my first post,ive been married to my partner for 7 years now and had our marriage certificate registered under his false ID he was claiming asylum at that time. i knew his real name but we didnt mention it mainily because he had an ongoing aslum case and had no ID in his real name

situation now is the home office know about this and asked me why i dont change it to his real name but as far as i know i could be jailed for this crime and so as himself
we know have kids and applied over 2 years now for ILR

questiion would be is it possible for a change in the name and date of birth or not
has anyone been through this or knows what happens

please no judgements i was young then and didnt think
i only need advise
