Passport under consideration

Post by under1 » Tue Apr 18, 2017 1:24 pm

Good day to you all

I made a naturalisation application about 6 weeks ago, did my biometrics about 5 weeks ago.

I know is too early but i decided to call the HO for an update of my application last week, the call center advisers weren't in a position to offer me any update, inside they requested i email HO which i did.

Out of curiosity, i telephoned HMPO to to find out if they've debited my account for the passport, the reply was yes. Using the NCS reference number i asked the gentleman if anything has happened to my application and he said "your application is under consideration and should be completed within 6 weeks"

My question is what does application under consideration mean and also does it mean a decision has been made regarding my application?

Thanks

No, it means it is being considered

Why did you enquire about the issue of a passport when your BC application hasn't been approved? Generally BC application enquiries won't be accepted until 6 months from date of submission.

https://www.gov.uk/contact-ukvi/british ... ationality

UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) aims to process all applications for citizenship, naturalisation and nationality within 6 months.

You’ll be sent a letter from UKVI after 6 months to update you on the progress of your application. You don’t need to contact UKVI about this.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
