I am gonna apply for naturalisation soon. I have medical card(G.P Vist Card only) for last two years. Will it impact my naturalisation application? I have not claimed any social welfare benefit yet..Can you please clarify?

cheers

Were you successful in getting the Irish citizenship in the end?
I am also thinking of applying for the Medical Card on the basis that I have chronic Hepatitis B. Does this still affect the naturalization applications?

Any one?

Thanks a lot for the quick and prompt response.
Did you mention in your application that you had a medical card?
How did you answer the below question in the Passport Application Form?
9.5 HAVE YOU RECEIVED A SOCIAL ASSISTANCE PAYMENT
OR OTHER STATE SUPPORT IN THE PAST 3 YEARS?
Did you reply 'Yes' or 'No'? or did you mention anything in the cover note?
Plus how long did your application take to get approved?
P.S. Congratulations on becoming an Irish citizen!

Hi there
Look having a medical card and being on social two different matter..
You should answer it no caz you are not having any social payment..
Do not put any unnecessary cover letter making your application complecated..
You can put yes only if you are having income from social or else just put no..
Basically if you are working even part time it's good while you apply for citizenship..even supplementary welfare benefits doesn't affect citizenship application..
As long as you are working should be fine..
And answer to your question I did put no..
Anyways I was on social support for two years before I applied..
But was working while my citizenship application was on going..
I was having social back then in past 3 years so I did put yes..
But didn't mention about medical card caz it wasn't ask in the from..
Put it this way as long as you are working you should be fine ..
Ofcourse with a good character...
My ceremony in two days ..
Ask any questions if I know il answer here..
Hope it helps..
