Original Documents Scanned with Priority Service?? (Aust)

Hey There
I has as of last week applied for a spouse visa from Australia, we used the priority service so that we may here back sooner.

Prior to attending the appointment at VFS my partner sent all the paperwork to me from London, this included all of his original payslips, bank statements and the like.

When at VFS i was told that to use the priority service they need to scan all the documents to Sheffield, they did this and gave me the documents back (less my passport). I then got an email confirming Sheffield had received the scan. The email also read's as it relates to supporting documents:

If you have already had your supporting documents scanned in at the VAC, or if you have already sent them into us, please ignore this request for documents.

I worry because the immigration guidelines are very clear in stipulating that originals need to be received, but at this stage they only have the scan from VFS in Melbourne.

Is this normal? Is the scan from VFS going to be treated as an original by the ECO?
