Can I apply for Citizenship if BRP is lost?

Post by pshayer » Wed Apr 19, 2017 9:59 am

Hi,

I will be eligible to apply for British Citizenship and Passport by end of this week. But unfortunately I lost my BRP in December last year. I have applied for replacement and submitted Bio-metric details on 26th January 2017 but still waiting to get new BRP.

Just want to check if I can still apply for Citizenship if my application for BRP replacement is in process? or I have to wait to get my BRP and then apply for citizenship?

Kind Regards

If they have records of granting your ILR, then lacking the BRP shouldn't be a problem for naturalisation.

Hi Vinny,

Thanks for replying. They must have this record as ILR was granted just a year ago and with in UK.
But I am curious to know if someone have gone through same thing or there is any guideline regarding this.
