What if the post from home office is lost

Post by marija2017 » Wed Apr 19, 2017 11:03 am

Hello,

apologies if I am opening the topic that is already discussed, but I am waiting to hear from HO about my naturalisation decision. I got some post yesterday, but I am living in the shared accommodation and the new flatmate didn't want to sign the post for me. I am not expecting any other post and there are HUGE chances that the letter could be from the HO. What happens if they didn't deliver it? Will they maybe contact me?

Also, does anyone have experiences with reaching out to the HO to ask about the outcome before the end of 6 months? Would they be kind to give the information?

Please help.

Decision letter is sent by normal mail (A5 brown envelope).
If you applied by post and enclosed a special delivery envelope for return of documents - postman would/should leave a card for you to collect from the sorting office.
Contacting UKVI advice line is hit and miss judging by postings on here, you talk to a call centre operative, not a case worker, they won't connect you.

I applied through the NCS. I didn't enclose the envelope:-( The lady working in NCS was not so cooperative. For example, she didn't want to take my payslips (although I should enclose them according to the guidance). But ok, that's some other topic. If I applied through the NCS, and no envelope, can you please advise what happens in that case? Thank you!!!!

Re. NCS submission, there is no return of documents as NCS has taken and certified copies. Payslips are generally not taken unless absolutely necessary, P60 & letters from employees seem to be most frequent documents. I can understand you becoming anxious, same happened when I applied, but perhaps best to sit back and wait for the brown envelope.

Thank you for the reassurance.

The lady from NCS didn't want to copy my payslips and long documents of employment, so I have had to submit the originals. I don't know what it the letter from employer. I always have had only the full contract and payslips. The lady in NCS also stated there that ON MY INSISTING she will add the documents about my employment. I had one fixed penalty notice for illegal litter and I wanted to submit the evidence of payment for that fixed penalty. She said it's not necessary because I only have 1 FP, and they will not consider it. But who will they know if I paid it or not if I didn't post the evidence?

This is the first time I applied through any sort of agency because I needed my passport back. Otherwise, I strongly recommend to everyone to make their applications by post. I have had a terrible experience in NCS.
The lady in NCS was extremely afraid of the HO case workers and she was trying to reduce the number of documents so much that I am afraid that I will be damaged.
