Any options for short term visa after LTR expires?

Post by redstingray » Fri Apr 21, 2017 11:45 am

Hi all

I am in a somewhat awkward situation and wondering if anyone can shed some light. I've lived in the UK for 9 years in total. My second ancestry visa is approaching expiry (25th July 2017) and I want to stay a further month (25th August 2017) before returning to Australia to support my terminally ill father.

Are there any short term or work sponsorship visas available that won't break the bank, just for this short 1 month period? For comparison purposes - Ancestry renewel is £2600 and LTR is £3000 (approx figures including premium service and extra fees). I never expected the figures would be this high! Last time I paid £587. Now there is a £1,000 NHS fee on top which of course is madness to pay in my situation.

If the answer is no, is it possible to remain in the UK for another week or two after my Ancestry visa expires? I would like to use that time to finalise my move, and do some travel around England.

Thanks
