Hello all,
I am a non-EEA national and am considering countries to do a Masters degree in but wherever I study I want to stay there and do the degree relevant career (Fashion Design/Fashion Marketing depending on opportunities)
I have some confusion as the information is not very clear and there seems to be an error in the pathway from 1G (Third Level Graduate Scheme) to General Employment Permit.
The confusion is because 1G allows you to work full-time for the duration of the year after you have graduated from the Masters degree.
But supposing this situation:
1- I graduate Masters
2- I have secured permanent contract in a company and start working full time after graduation under 1G stamp rights
3- I now want to secure my General Employment Permit
This is where the issue starts as it states that the job I am going to apply for and will sponsor me for General Employment must meet Labour Market Needs Test
But what if the job that hired me and gave me a permanent contract, what if that meets all other criteria except Labour Market Needs Test. It will make it very hard to find employment and always have to ask during interview - oh by the way I can only apply jobs that meet Labour Market Needs test, has this job been advertised with national newspaper & Department of Social Protection Employment Services/EURES.
I hope you all see my confusion as if, after graduating, I manage to secure a job with 1G and already start working. It is likely that job will not pass Labour Market Needs Test and thus will be useless.
Anyone with experience on this?
