ILR (LR) - premium center - with booked plane tickets

Hi,

my friend is going to apply for ILR (LR) in same-day service (we had this booked as we wre thinking of changing to ILR if the Tier 1 Extn application we made does not get decided, but it has been now)...

my question is given the Tier 1 Extn took 10 months,, will ILR (LR) will also take long ? (i.e not decided on the same day)

if that happens, is it pssoble to ask the passport to be returned ? as we need the passport for Travel (travel arrangements already been made)

any 1 with simialr exp ?

Why "we need the passport for Travel" and 'the application we have made"?
