Freelancer / self-employed clarification

Post by Happy_Days » Tue Apr 25, 2017 10:35 pm

Hi there,

I am new to these forums so i'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong place.

After spending several hours reading through various documents i feel that i am no closer to my answer. I was engaged in january and am currently in the process of looking at the criteria for a marriage visa. I have recently been granted the opportunity to get work on a feature film. I am awaiting confirmation of my salary and the length of my contract - as it stands i have been told that my contract will be between 5 and 8 months long and i will be paid £2000 per month. I am so confused by all the salaried and non salaried, self employed stuff. I know that I will have a contract but that contract is unlikely to last for longer than 8 months.

Please can someone help me as to understand will this mean that i meet the threshold of £18,600 per year or will I have to find another feature to work on after and produce a years worth of bank statements to prove that on average have earned a total greater than or equal to £18,600.

Any advice anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated
