When can non-eu husband with BPR apply for citizenship?

Hello, we have just received our documents;

I am the EU member, and the date I acquired permanent residence status was just over a year ago so I know I can apply for citizenship.

But what about my non-Eu husband, he received a biometric permanent residence with no letter specifying when he acquired the status. Does his status depend on mine and he can also apply or he has to wait one year from the date his BPR was issued, which was just a few days ago?

Under the EEA Regulations, the Non-EEA family member is eligible to apply for a permanent residence card (BRP) after a continuous 5 years of living together in the UK with the EU citizens. The permanent residence card starts counting on the very day it was approved to your husband. So your Non-EEA husband should start counting from the day he got permanent and he should apply for British Citizenship a year later. Normally, the permanent residence card has no expiry dates.

A correction. PR starts from the date it was acquired (automatically), not the date the PR card was issued. Please check rules/facts etc and if not sure, it would be better not to post

As your husband has confirmation of PR, as soon as you are granted British citizenship he can apply immediately for BC without waiting for 12 months. (Assuming he meets all the standard requirements, including KOLL & permitted absences etc)
If applying using the NCS if asked, they will generally call the HO while the applicant is with them to confirm the date that PR was acquired.
