Referees: Criteria to be a referee

Post by acha114 » Sun Apr 30, 2017 1:29 pm

Hi all,

I am filling out Form AN to apply for naturalisation as a British Citizen. I have a question around the criteria for a referee being eligible.

My girlfriend's father works as one of the acceptable professions on the table in this link. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... ersons.pdf.

He meets all the criteria (not related to me or the other referee, British citizen, professional), but does the Home Office have a view on this scenario where he is the father of my girlfriend? I couldn't see anything explicitly stated around this one.

Thanks in advance.

This is not a problem, you are not related, and he fulfils all other criteria.
