Queries re FLR (m) and biometric permit

Post by kathylion32 » Tue May 02, 2017 10:35 am

Dear Sir/Madam

If anyone could help with the queries below I would be much obliged:

1. Section 2.2 - I presume that as this is the second time im applying for a visa for my spouse (first time being entry to UK) that I should tick No on this box which asks ' is this the first time you have applied for a visa or extension of stay' - this is the first time im applying for an extension for leave to remain following my spouse's initial 2.5 years stay

2. Section 2.3 - As this is the first time we are applying for a leave to remain i should tick the first box and not the third box which is 'second period of leave to remain'

3. We are living with my parents since we got married and they are happy for us to stay there indefinitely - should i produce a signed letter from them both stating they are happy to accommodate us?

4. We have more than enough supporting documents which support our joint address. However, out of my 6 months playslips 2 months of the payslips include a different correspondence address. it should be noted that i continued staying at my main residence with parents as is substantiated by other documents but the correspsondence adddress for work was changed because i did not want these documents to get lost and my own residence was undergoing renovation.

should i make a note explaining this or leave it as is ? i dont want to complicate matters and my other documents support the correct address anyhow.

5. when is the date by which i need to submit my application - my spouses visa expires 20th may so i presume i have up until, say 15th may to submit by post

6. finally, my spouse did not have any biometric residence permit or have fingers prints taken as part of the original application which was to enter the UK - i suppose therefore that i need to apply for this and will the home office let me know when the biometric application has to be submitted at the post office or does this need to be done BEFORE i submit my FLR application.

A heartfelt thanks to whomever helps

with warm regards

No. Your wife will receive a letter asking her to submit her biometrics after she has submitted the application. If she applies in person, biometrics will be taken on the day of the appointment.

Be aware that A2 level English will be required and in addition to the visa fee your wife will have to pay the £500 NHS surcharge.
