Elderly family members - Advice needed

Post by MK4B » Thu May 04, 2017 6:37 pm

Hello all,

I was just browsing around to find some more information on trying to get a family member to the UK and found this site. I'll try to succinctly explain my situation.

My grandmother is in her late 60s and lives in Somalia. We now live in the UK permanently although we are European citizens. My grandmother is very frail and has a number of medical problems (including thyroiditis and heart problems). She is also the sole carer for my grandfather who is blind and has been housebound for over a decade now.

Is there any chance at all that we could bring her to the UK for medical assistance? We would pay for this ourselves - not at the taxpayers expense. If so, how would we go about doing this?

Your grandmother need to apply for EEA Family Permit as a direct family member of you.
