UK Citizen in France after Britexit- Dual Citizenship?

Post by 9elizabeth » Sun May 07, 2017 9:05 pm

Hello there,

Yesterday I was sitting with one of my friend in a local put and we were discussion immigration status in Europe. He was born in India but he is British Citizen now and abandended his Indian citizenship (but he holds OCI Card).
He is not very happy with Britext. He is thinking of moving to some european coutry that allows him to have duel citizen. He being a British National, he can hold some other country citizenship.

Whats your openion, if he goes to France set up his business and starts living in France before March 2019? Can he become French National as well by natrulisation and still hold his British Nationality?

5 year route to French citizenship with the requirement to have a qualification proving a fluency in the language.

The issue will be what the agreement will be for British nationals living in France once Brexit is finalised, which one would assume would happen before your friend had achieved 5 years of residence.
