Reschedule Visitor Visa appointment to be 3 months of travel

Hi,

I have filled the online application for 5 year standard visit visa for my mom in India. I have paid for the visa and her appointment is booked for next week. I have mentioned the travel date as early September.

Just realised that we cannot apply before three months of travel date.

I have got two choices (I think)

1) I can cancel and reapply as new application and book a date which will be within three months of travel.

2) Or as i can reschedule the current appointment, if i just postpone the appointment date to sometime in June will that be treated as applying within 3 months of travel. (Applying is when going for the appointment or when i completed the application online?) - Kindly suggest whether this option possible
