Tier 2 General Dependent to Tier 2 General

Post by sabikhi » Tue May 09, 2017 2:47 pm

Hi Board Members,

I have a query related to ICT Cooling off requirements.

I entered UK on a Tier 2 ICT in Dec 2014 and continued at the same job untill end of Feb 2017. In between this time, my spouse was offered a Tier 2 General by her employer and I subsequently moved as a
Tier 2 General Dependent in March 2017.

I wanted to check if
1) Can I after one year i.e. March 2018, apply for a Tier 2 General for my own self (My employer would be happy to provide CoS).
2) In case (1) is possible, and my wife switches as my dependent, how will the ILR period be calculated, will it reset the clock?

Thanks,
Rohit

1. yes
2. yes. both of u clock will reset. both main applicant and dependents need continuous 5 years on the respective visas without switching categories.
