ILR eligibility - Tier 2

Post by LondonGuy121 » Tue May 09, 2017 11:34 pm

Hi folks,

I was first granted my Tier 2 - General visa on 24th May 2012 for 3 years. In May 2015, this was extended for another 3 years until 24 May 2018. However, since I will complete my 5 years on 24 May 2017, I am eligible to apply for an ILR.

However I wanted to ask whether I can apply for my ILR after 24 May 2017 i.e. in my sixth year? Or does the Home office say ILR needs to be applied before 5th Anniversary of Tier 2 General.

Thanks in advance.

Yes you can apply after five years.
For the ILR, only the most recent five years will be considered from the date of your application.
