Help needed FLR (M) letter

Post by hamza6666 » Wed May 10, 2017 1:27 pm

Hi Guys

just needed your help as i have received a letter from the home office after applying for flr (m) for my wife.

so i am a British National and my wife came over from Pakistan on a spouse visa which was expiring and then we applied for a flr m

we applied on 13th March 2017 filled in all forms and sent all the documentation, now i am on 30k plus for my job, we provided bank statements, my job contract, our marriage certificate, her passport, my passport, our accommodation proof and all other documents

on the 2nd May 2017 we received a letter asking for further documents, they wanted more bank statements, marriage certificate (not sure why they asked about this as was already sent!) and one more payslip from my job which we sent

Now on Monday 15th May we received a letter back saying 'although we would normally decide your application within eight weeks from the date it was submitted unfortunately this is not going to be possible in your case, this is because there are outstanding policy issues which need to be resolved which could affect the outcome of your case'

now we have no idea what this means, has anyone else received a letter like this, we thought our case was straightforward, met all the requirements so are so confused.

perhaps they are of the view that the financial requirement was unmet in the 6 months leading to your renewal.

Not sure why they would think that, they did ask for bank statements for the last 6 months but I have had a 20k plus salary for the last 4 years and I gave them my 2014 contract along with annual salary increase letters
