FLR M Maintenance (combined income)

Post by salvatoresays » Thu May 11, 2017 3:01 pm

Dear Members,

FLR M extension is coming up soon for my wife, I need advice regarding the following scenario:

It is said that partners income can count towards the financial requirement if the partner is working in the UK.

My earning: £9600 per year, same employer for the past 6 months
My wife is worked irregular part time jobs with 3 different companies:
during the past 12 months her income was £10600, as she was changing jobs every 3-4 months working part time. She has now started a job full time with a new company for £30k.

Category B Says:
If the UK partner (and/or the applicant if in the UK) have been working for less than 6 months for their current employer, the test will be:
Gross annual income from their current employer must meet the financial requirement; and
Gross annual income for the past 12 months must meet the financial requirement.

Even though her new job is £30k she has only earned £10k over the last 12 months, can both of us combine our income.

My earning: £9600 category A
Wife's earning £10600 Category B

Your advice would be much appreciated.
