Malta with NON-Eu spouse with spanish residence card

Hi

Need some advice please, i have been offered a contract in Malta with a salary of €24,000 PA. Me and my Non-eu spouse are currently living in spain and she has a residence card. I am a british national.

Does anybody know the complexities of acquiring the equivalent residence card in malta? Is private insurance required etc...
