Schengen Visa or not ?

I am British and hold s UK passport.

My wife is Moroccan and has a spouse visa to live with me in the UK.

Do we need a Schengen visa to travel to the Netherlands or Portugal please ?

Yes your spouse needs a schengen visa if she has a british residence card under british law. If she has a "Family member of Union Citizen" card then she doesn't need one when travelling with you which I doubt is your case.

Although prior schengen visa is not mandatory, airlines probably will not let your spouse board the flight without one to reach the schengen control so unless its an emergency you should plan the travel and visa well in advance.
