Coming back to UK after placement

I study in UK since 2014 and my course ended in 2018.
This year, I have a placement year outside the UK (approved by my Uni). It is a sandwich year required by my course and i will finish it next week so I planed to get back to the UK.
However, when I check on Home Office website it said :
"You can arrive in the UK before your course starts: up to 1 month before, if your course lasts more than 6 months"
It get me confused. Because I already started my course (2014) so does it mean I can get back to the UK at anytime or I will have to wait until 18th August ( my final year start on 18 September ).

BTW my VISA is issued on 2014 and end in 2018.
Does anyone get a clean answer for it ?

Assuming your university has maintained Tier 4 sponsorship throughout your placement year, you can re-enter the UK at any point before the end of your course. I advise you double-check this with the university, just in case they stopped sponsoring you when you left the UK and they expect you to apply for a new visa for the remaining period of study.

The information you have quoted is for people who haven't yet started their course, which is not your situation.

Your University probably reported the change of location to the UKVI. This would have included when you were expected to return. Ask to see what they reported.
