Hi All
I am new to forum so i apologize in advance if i have posted in wrong forum or this has been already posted before.
I am Pakistani and have been previously married to a UK national in june 2011. We only had a nikkah and didn't live together. We ended things over phone in December 2013 and had no contact with my ex husband after that time as he moved to Thailand and came back to UK in July 2015 when i sent him Mutual consent divorce papers through his uncle who got it signed for me and sent back to me. I applied for confirmation of divorce from Union council in Karachi and they issued Divorce certificate in January 2016 after failing attempts of reconciliation. I have already got my NIC and Passport changed with my family name.
I got remarried in September 2016 and have to apply for UK spouse visa, in December our solicitor advised that i need to provide complete Union council documentation as I didn't go to court for Khula *Islamic right for woman to end marriage*. This was a nightmare in itself as it took very long to get that documentation. Now that we completed and gathered all the documentation, our solicitor has raised a new point regarding date of effectiveness of divorce. As per divorce certificate
Date of Notice for divorce 6th August 2015
Date of failure in reconciliation 8th January 2016
Date of Effectiveness of divorce 6th August 2015 *According to solicitor it should be date of failure in reconciliation
My question is do i need to get divorce certificate reissued for my UK spouse visa application as it was accepted as it is in Pakistan for my NIC and passport for change in name and relationship status.
Thank you for any help you can provide.
