Tier 4 visa wrong expiry date.

Post by basher207 » Tue May 30, 2017 2:07 am

I'm in London on a tier 4, 4 year degree (3 year with a foundation year).
Anyways, I noticed last week that my visa expires in October 2017, while my course ends in may 2018.

I contacted my university about it, and they that the mistake was not the home offices fault, that it was a mistake on the CAS application that they handed the home office that was not spotted.

I have no idea what to do now? Can anyone help me to figure out where to look for information about this sorts of thing?

My university said that the only thing that they can think of from the top of there head, is for me to reapply from my home country for the last year. But they said that would mean that I will not be able to come back to the UK till September, as my current visa will expire as soon as I get the new one, and the new one wont start till September.

Any tips would be super appreciated? Scrambling for any information here.

Sounds like you are being hit with the problems regarding Academic Progression. We have students switching on to their Placement Year who simply return home for the summer and apply for their new Visa overseas to return. CAS statements can be issued up to 3 months in advance, so there's no harm really in going home for summer, applying, and returning when you get the new Visa.
