Work Permit in Germany. Accommodation needed?

Post by Hamster127 » Wed May 31, 2017 8:59 am

Hi everyone.

When filling out the work permit form for Germany http://www.uk.diplo.de/contentblob/3401 ... Permit.pdf

point 6 says:
Vorgesehener Aufenthaltsort in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland Intended place of stay in Germany
Does it mean that I have to rent an accommodation before I apply?

My plan was to stay in a Hotel for about a week while looking for a flat. Renting a house can be quite expensive as one usually has to sign a 6 months lease, and doing so before one even has a visa seems counter-intuitive. Surely, if one has a firm job offer that pays enough (and also money on the bank), it is proof enough that one will be able to afford accommodation?

If accommodation is required prior to filling out the form, how long does it have to be? Is 1 week at a hotel (with receipt) enough?

Cheers.
