Hi guys,
This website has been a massive help to me in the last few years, and hoping you guys can give me some more guidance. My wife and I have the following situation:
I am a naturalised British citizen (received passport March 16), after having been working in the UK for 7 years. My wife and I have been married for 18 months (married in December 15), and have been in a relationship for almost 3 years. Both of us are originally from Pakistan and met there. Originally my wife came to the UK in October 2015 on a two year student visa to do an MPhil at Oxford. Her visa is expiring in October 2017.
I have been looking into shifting it over to a family visa, more specifically, the Form FLR(M) 5 year route. However, the issue is that while both of us are married, we have lived in two different cities. She has used her Oxford accommodation as her main accommodation for two years, while I have been living in London in a private accommodation, which we plan to live in once her studies are over. I can actually provide the original tenancy documents in both of our names for my current residence, but apart from that this no other documentation that we can provide.
I meet the financial criteria, and all other requirements. Has anyone had any experience with such a scenario? I ask because I was doing the online forms, and it specifically asked for documents to prove we had lived together for 2 years in both our names, and apart from the tenancy agreement, I don’t have anything. And since she used her Oxford address mainly, she doesn’t have any documents addressed to this location.
Can anyone shed some light on this? Is there something I am missing here?
Really appreciate your help.
